Multiple People Shot at Howe Park – Unauthorized Event Results in Shooting
On April 18 2026, a large unauthorized party of an estimated several hundred individuals at Howe Community Park in Sacramento in the Arden-Arcade area of Sacramento turned violent when 20 to 25 gunshots filled the air as deputies from the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office were in the process of breaking up the gathering.
A Timeline of Events
Around 6:30 in the evening, the Sacramento County law enforcement received calls reporting subjects possibly armed with concealed weapons at Howe Community Park in Sacramento. A second report mentioned a possible altercation and subjects running away.
Law enforcement air support was called in and surveyed the area from above but could not find any active disturbance.
Nonetheless, several hundred people had collected at the park for what officials called an unauthorized event. Responding deputies formed a perimeter around the park, activated emergency lights, and used roughly 15 minutes commanding the crowd to clear out over loudspeakers.
As deputies were in the process of dispersing attendees, 20 to 25 rounds of gunfire were discharged — triggering a panicked crowd in every direction.
Victims of the Shooting

The Suspect Vehicle
